In hoping to build on our understanding of health from a socio-ecological perspective and to focus on the impact of income as an influential factor of health, I find it is first important that we, as students, understand the distribution of wealth.
Although this video has been produced with the intention of reaching the attention of Americans, it is an issue that needs to be addressed by all citizens of the world. The reality is that wealth distribution is not at all what we think it is. As the impact poverty has on health is immense, we, as individuals need to become more informed. There are many different definitions of poverty ranging from hidden or temporary poverty to absolute poverty and many different ways to measure poverty. One of the first steps however, is to first recognize how inequitable the situation is
